Pneumatic conveying for high flow rates

Pneumatic conveying for high flow rates

Pneumatic conveying offers significant advantages not only in terms of maintenance, ease and cost of installation, cleaning, etc., but also in terms of the volumes of material it can move. A traditional dilute phase pneumatic conveying system can ensure flow rates in the order of 20 tons per hours, while dense phase pneumatic conveying can guarantee hourly flow rate in the range of 50-60 tons.

Due to the higher phase density, i.e. the greater presence of product inside the pipeline, dense phase conveying allows higher flow rates despite lower speeds.

Air-Tec System has developed a system called “Full pipeline Continuous”, specifically designed for large flow rates, even over significant distances. This application takes advantage of the characteristics of full-line transport and optimises the flow rate by integrating a second conveyor that works in synergy with the first. Full Pipeline Continuous pneumatic conveying is ideal for handling all materials, especially those that are fragile or abrasive, making it particularly suitable for covering long distances.

When the required flow rates exceed the values mentioned earlier, the diameter of the necessary conveying pipes needed becomes considerable, making the pipes heavy and difficult to install. Large radius curves, diverter valves and accessories become expensive and difficult to obtain. To address this challenge, Air -Tec System proposes the use of several twin lines in the case of extremely high flow rates and ensuring continuous operation even during the maintenance of a machine or conveying line.
