Common requests about Air-Tec system pneumatic conveying system
What distances can cover a dense phase pneumatic conveying system?
Air-Tec system solutions are suitable for both long and short transport routes. The use of a booster to control the compressed air or other inert gas makes it possible to transport dust and granules for distances over 500 metres including vertical straight lines until 100 metres (depending on the conveyed material). Boosters reduce considerably the friction during transport and, as a consequence, the material flows smoothly towards long distance destinations or along complex routes.
Is it true that the cost of dense phase plants is higher than diluted phase systems?
The initial cost for the implementation of a diluted phase system (blower and rotary valve) is lower than the one for a dense phase system. A whole diluted phase plant management involves the use of larger diameter and dimension pipes and filters. It also means frequent pipe deterioration and recurring maintenance to the rotary valve. This actually makes it more expensive than a dense phase solution.
Is the dense phase pneumatic conveying system very noisy?
The use of a low transport speed reduces shock to the pipe which generates noise particularly during plastic granules or pellet movement. The passage of material is fluid and flows smoothly.
Air-Tec system provides solutions with a noise level below 75 dBA.
Is it possible to transport mixtures of products?
Air-Tec system developed technology makes possible to transport materials already mixed. Due to the low speed and the ability to control the quantity of air into the system The mixture properties of products are preserved until the end of the route.
Is the dense phase transport suitable for abrasive materials?
The developed technology by Air-Tec system ensures high performance in the transport of delicate and abrasive materials, such as glass, sand, and corundum. The low speed combined with a reduced amount of compressed air or other gaseous fluid, avoids wear on the pipes and preserves the integrity of the product.
Is the dense phase transport suitable for fragile materials?
Air-Tec system solutions make the movement of fragile materials possible by conserving all their proprieties till the end of the route. Indeed, the low speed allows for the preservation of the integrity of the material particularly for fragile products like atomized ceramic, fiberglass or roasted coffee.
Is it true that the system can only work in discontinuous or batch form?
Apart from the discontinuous form, Air-Tec system technology enables the transport also in full pipeline form and full pipeline continuous (characterized by two vessels connected between them to ensure a continuous flow of material).
Depending on the needs and on the product for transportation, customers can choose between the different methods.
Up to what size of granule material can be conveyed with a dense phase system?
Generally up to 3 cm, but for more precise details, it is possible to test material in the pilot plant at Air-Tec system Headquarters and check all the parameters of transport.
